Paint A Smile

Paint a perfect smile onto my face.
Wash it off good.
Don’t leave any trace of loves embrace.
The days we shared; the hours together; the times we loved.
The days we cared. My hand slipped from yours.
We went our separate ways.
I closed open doors.
How the pain weighs.
Then times got tough; days got lonely.
My heart was empty.
My sadness grew.
I silently wept and was so blue.
You left me lost and alone.
I can’t bare another lost heart.
I wish I would have known.
I need someone here to do what you never would.
Paint a permanent smile on my face and never could.
