Dads (a Father's Day poem)

A dad may not get showered with praise
and sometimes it may seem as though he is forgotten for the joys
he has spread along the way.
But it doesn't mean that those he loves don't realize
the wonderful role he has played...
the warmth of a summer sun, the generous soul of nature,
the patience of eternity,
a comforting arm at night, the wisdom of experience,
the faith of a mustard seed,
committed love to help them succeed.
With each year that passes,
more grateful, more proud, and more glad,
just to call him dad.
Thank you dads for listening and caring,
and for giving and sharing.
